Ludgate Hub  located in Skibbereen for the past 5 years, Ireland's first 1GB connected town and is a digital workplace for national and local small businesses, and potentially for teams within international businesses, as well as offering a great remote working alternative to continual commuting to Cork city and beyond. Its aim is to create a new model for successful rural digital economies. As Ireland’s first rural digital hub, our goal is to facilitate the creation of 500 jobs in West Cork, playing our part in creating a sustainable community in the region. Ludgate has generated significant local support and has the backing of the whole town and all stakeholders.

Ludgate Hub keeps investment in the local economy and offers a new alternative in the region to the work life balance. Due to the substantial success of the Ludgate Hub, Enterprise Ireland has awarded the Ludgate Hub with a substantial grant to refurbish a 2nd Hub and hire four new staff to join the existing two staff. The Ludgate Hub is supported by Vodafone, SIRO, AIB, Enterprise Ireland, Google, KPMG, Cork County Council, Moore Stephens, Ronan Daly Jermyn and the Department of Rural and Community Development.

This roles are predominately located in Skibbereen with an element of flexibility on hours and times.
